RAT PUNK - Punk-style urban illustration
Project type
Illustration, Personal
Date
March, 2025
Technique
Digital Art (Photoshop)
Ratpunk is an urban punk-style illustration that combines satire, aggression, and street aesthetics to bring to life a character embodying rebellion in its rawest form: a rat with the attitude of an anti-establishment leader.
This project stems from the intersection of classic punk culture and the visual codes of contemporary urban art. The result is a dirty, noisy, and direct composition, designed to work on t-shirts, posters, or editorial materials.
The illustration features expressive lines, deliberately aggressive details, and a limited palette, aligned with the visual language of DIY and counterculture design. Like all punk-style illustrations, it doesn't seek to please, but to provoke.
This work is part of a series of explorations into the aesthetics of chaos and reinforces my approach to critical illustration with a strong graphic identity.
The project evolved into the concept art for a fictional vinyl cover, Again on the Moon, adding a fun and nostalgic twist to the original illustration. A piece that pays tribute to the transgressive and carefree spirit of classic punk.
