OVERVIEW
A full visual campaign for the Mexico and Colombia tour of Congo Natty, one of the founding figures of UK jungle and dub music. The client — a Mexican promoter who had followed my work on Instagram for some time before finally reaching out — needed a campaign identity that could carry the tour across multiple formats and markets: posters, social media, large format prints, web banners, and animated content.
The brief was clear on one thing: no clichés. He wanted something that represented Mexico and Colombia authentically, but through a different lens. Given Congo Natty's deep connection to nature, rhythm, and the raw energy of jungle music, I built the visual world around that — indigenous figures, jungle fauna, and a sense of ritual that felt earned rather than decorative.
THE PROCESS
The main poster went through several phases before landing on the final composition. The starting point was the figure of Congo Natty himself — hooded, centered, commanding — and from there I built outward: a jaguar, a rooster, an opossum with her young, a cobra, tropical birds, indigenous elders. Each element chosen for what it means in the cultures of both countries, not for how exotic it looks.
The color palette draws from the dark, psychedelic energy of jungle music — deep greens, purples, and that signature worn texture that makes the whole thing feel like it was pulled from a crate of rare records..
